Housing Choice Voucher

Housing Choice Voucher Program
The Housing Choice Voucher Program, also known as Section 8, is a tenant-based rental assistance program. The WHA administers over 683 rental subsidies to eligible families, who in turn are responsible for locating private units that meet the program requirements. Qualified households with vouchers pay between 30-40% of their monthly, adjusted income towards rent, and the WHA pays the remaining amount.
